The Sydney Theatre Company Foundation

Donations to this organisation are tax deductible

The Sydney Theatre Company Foundation was established on 14 October, 1995 at A (K)night of Medieval Mayhem, The evening was such a success that the Foundation has since mounted a similar event annually, raising over a million dollars during the last five years.

The Sydney Theatre Company Patrons scheme was introduced in 1997 with Sandy Gore as Patron. Two appeals were initiated, and as a result almost $40,000 was raised. Since then, the Patrons scheme has continued to grow, and currently comprises over 450 donors,

Money raised by the Foundation is used to support the Company, and enables STC to develop new works; provide opportunities for up and coming directors, performers and writers; and as a result, contribute to the development of our national theatre culture. The funds donated will not only be used to maintain Sydney Theatre Companys current standards of excellence, but also to fund the commissioning and development of new work by Australian playwrights, directors, composers and choreographers.
