Kids Help Line - Victorian Office

 This organisation accepts volunteer labour

Kids Help Line is Australia's only free, 24 Hour, confidential and anonymous telephone and web counselling service for kids aged 5-18.

Kids Help Line was established in 1991 and became a national service in 1993. Each week Kids Help Line answers between 8,000 and 9,000 calls from kids across Australia. Sadly, due to lack of funds thousands more go unanswered.

Kids Help Line is staffed by professionally trained and supervised counsellors. An average day for any given cousellor includes handling calls from children who are bullied at school, are feeling depressed and/or suicidal, are being abused, have a drug problem, are homeless, or are having problems dealing with relationships with family or friends.

At all times the service seeks to promote the capacity of young people to manage their own lives; by assisting each caller to clarify their concerns, formulate options and strategies for positive change and to identify and understand the consequences of their own actions. At the same time we encourage production relationships with parents, teachers and caregivers.

Kids Help Line is about Australians caring for kids.

Your donation will help us answer more cries for help from the kids of Australia.
