Epworth Medical Foundation

 This organisation accepts volunteer labour

Epworth Medical Foundation (EMF)is the exclusive fundraising arm of Epworth Hospital.
Epworth Hospital is an independant, not-for-profit, community-based hospital which means it is independent of both State and Federal Government, has no shareholders and is motivated in what it does by community health needs, rather than by profit opportunities.

100 percent of operating surpluses are re-invested to further improve patient care facilities. The hospital retains only limited reserves which means that whenever new capital investments or programmes are required, Epworth must seek help from the community.

This is done through EMF. Established in 1982 as a public fund, EMF seeks donations from private donors, corporations and, philanthropic trusts. All funds received by the Foundation are periodically transferred to the hospital to be used in the manner defined by the donor.

The Foundation is endorsed as a Charitable Institution and a Deductible Gift Recipient under Item 2 of Section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assesment Act 1997.
