The Cat Protection Society of NSW
Since 1958 the Cat Protection Society of NSW has been tirelessly working to promote the welfare of cats in the community. It began with our concern for the plight of homeless street cats and a recognition of the importance of desexing. Cat Protection now offers a complete service aimed at the humane and proper care of cats and the education of their owners.
The Society provides a number of welfare services through our office and cattery. We also have a fleet of air-conditioned ambulances manned by trained welfare officers. Abandoned and stray cats are cared for and re-homed at our modern cattery.
Our wider charter, however, is to promote the welfare of cats, through our education of cat owners and society at large. To that end we work with councils and lobby legislators to improve standards and create awareness about the responsible care of cats and the appropriate control of the numbers and activities of cats in the community.
