Friendly Farms Association Incorporated

 This organisation accepts volunteer labour

Friendly Farms Association Inc is a community-based 100% volunteer charity, whose mission is the establishment and operation of self-sufficient farm homes for genuinely homeless youth.
We are curently developing our 'pilot project' farm about 6km north of Gin Gin, Queensland, the first of what we aim to be a string of such properties right across Australia.
Our primary target group within the homeless youth population is those young people who have left home because of intolerable abuse, become involved in the downward spiral of the "street kid" syndrome and culture, and have reached a point of helplessness and hopelessness which has led them to seriously contemplate, or actually attempt, suicide.
Our rehabilitation/nurture programme includes the teaching of Life Skills such as problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and communication, as well as whatever educational, vocational, and social skills are deemed appropriate. It is also about mutual respect and trust, and based on the old ethos that we never get more out of life than we first put in.
