Ronald McDonald House Charities
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is committed to directly helping seriously ill children to live happier, healthier lives.
The cornerstone is the 10 Ronald McDonald Houses around Australia providing a home away from home. Attached to major children's or women's hospitals, they provide the opportunity for children to have their parents nearby when they are in hospital.
RMHC also runs the Ronald McDonald Learning Program which helps children catch up on their education skills after lengthy hospital stays.
Ronald McDonald Beach House at Batemans Bay is available for the families of seriously ill children who are well enough to take a holiday.
RMHC Cord Blood Banks collect umbilical cord blood which is used as an alternative to bone marrow in the treatment of childhood cancers and other disorders.
RMHC also runs Family Rooms, Care-By-Parent Units and Family Facilities in several major children's hospitals.
McDonald's Australia Ltd pays all administrative and non-income generating costs so that 100 cents in every dollar donated goes directly to the programs that benefit the children.
