Home Education Association Inc.

 This organisation accepts volunteer labour

Home education (also called homeschooling) is a legal alternative to school education in all Australian states. As the name suggests, it involves a parent taking direct responsibility for the education of their children at home.

More parents each year are considering the option to educating their own children for various reasons - sometimes bullying, sometimes the quality of schooling. However, home education is also a traditional way of life for families living in isolation in rural or remote Australia.

The Home Education Association (HEA)is a volunteer run organization formed to promote the practice of home education in Australia and to provide support to home educating families, and support groups.

The HEA provides information about Home Education, forums for discussion, and a database of service providers, resources, contact people and support groups around Australia, and insurance cover for group activities. The HEA runs regular programs to educate parents in home education practice.
