CAN (Mental Health) Inc. is an independent, not-for-profit, consumer run organisation for people with mental illness. <br> <br>Formerly known as the Northern Beaches Mental Health Consumer Network (1994-2005), CAN Mental Health was able to incorporate in its own right in October 2005. <br> <br>We have since developed into the leading consumer run mental health organisation in Australia. <br> <br>CAN manages the Pitane Recovery Centre, the first and only consumer run recovery centre servicing New South Wales. <br> <br>CAN also delivers support services to mental health consumers through the National Community Connections Project. This project is comprised of two programs: <br> <br>1. Phone Connections - a free peer support and information referral line available nationwide to all mental health consumers; and <br>2. The Hospital to Home Team – an innovative support service based at Liverpool to provide practical assistance and peer support for mental health consumers on discharge from the inpatient units. <br> <br>Our Mission: To Care, Support & Enable Consumers to have a go through Consumer Operated Services. <br> <br>Our Vision: We CAN - We CARE - The Future is In Our Hands. <br> <br>
