Lort Smith Animal Hospital
The Lort Smith Animal Hospital provides high quality veterinary services for the pets of people on lower incomes or who cannot afford normal veterinary fees. It is a shelter for lost and stray animals as well as a government recognised wildlife shelter.
In June 2000 a new state-of-the-art hospital was opened to the public with greatly improved facilities. Despite this our fees are among the lowest in Melbourne.
The hospital does not receive any government funding and financial donations are not tax deductible. There is a considerable operating loss each year and the hospital relies on donations and bequests from the people of Victoria to survive.
