TADVIC is a non-profit organisation whose volunteer members design and make or modify equipment for people with disabilities when there is no commercially available solution.

There is no cost for the TADVIC service, clients are only asked to reimburse the volunteer for materials used and travel expenses.

Each request for assistance is assessed and monitored by an occupational therapist, who, with the technical volunteer visits the client at the place where the equipment is to be used ie home, school, work. This ensures that the solution will be both practical and appropriate to the client's needs and medical condition.

This year over 200 volunteers from Melbourne and ten country branches will complete over 650 projects spread across Victoria.

In providing this service to people with disabilities, TADVIC seeks in a very practical way to increase their independence, to improve the quality of life for both the client and carer, to facilitate the integration of children into mainstream schools and to assist adults to engage in productive work and recreational activities.
