Australian Drug Foundation
The Australian Drug Foundation has been working for almost 50 years to address drug issues.
Our mission is to prevent alcohol and other drug problems, and reduce alcohol and other drug harms.
Our priority target group is young people,0-30 years, with secondary targets of parents, educators, and health and welfare professionals.
Current ADF programs and services include:
� The DrugInfo Clearinghouse (incorporating the Resource Centre, the Somazone, ADIN, Koori and multicultural websites and the Druginfo Shop), works to develop and disseminate quality, reliable information on alcohol and drugs to professionals and the wider community.
� The Centre for Youth Drug Studies conducts a range of research studies into the factors that influence young people�s drug and alcohol use.
� The Good Sports Program: a community development project working with community sporting clubs to enable them to manage alcohol in a responsible manner.
� Community Alcohol Action Network, an advocacy program assisting the community to respond to inappropriate alcohol marketing and supply issues.
� Policy development: the ADF contributes to the development and review of drug and alcohol policy, regulation and legislation.
Main ADF activities include: running a community telephone information service and a specialist drug library; developing, producing and diseminating drug education resources; providing drug education programs to schools and training teachers; the Good Sports Program which works with community sporting clubs to promote more responible management of alcohol; and Somazone, an internet based infomation service for young people.
The Centre for Youth Drug Studies, an inititiave of the ADF, conducts reaserch on a range of youth drug related issues.
