Aunties & Uncles Co-operative Family Project Ltd.
Aunties & Uncles is a registered charity with trained co-ordinators who assess and screen adult volunteers and evaluate the needs of socially and emotionally disadvantaged families and link them together for ongoing support.
Volunteers are adults over 21, from all walks of life, who have a friendly caring nature and a genuine liking for children.
Children, often from single parent families with little or no other family support, are linked to volunteers for friendship and mentoring.
Volunteers spend quality time with their 'adopted niece/nephew' while trained co-ordinators provide ongoing support to the parents, children and the volunteers.
