Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland
WHAT IS CEREBRAL PALSY?
Cerebral palsy is not a disease, it is not genetic, and there is no cure. It is the name given to a group of conditions, which affect the way the brain controls the muscles of the body. This results in difficulties in movement and posture. Cerebral Palsy has different causes, and affects each person differently; therefore people with cerebral palsy have varying individual needs.
WHAT IS THE CEREBRAL PALSY LEAGUE OF QUEENSLAND?
The Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland provides services for people with cerebral palsy and related disabilties, and their families. Common goals of the League's clients include attending school, living in their own home, being a member of the workforce, and enjoying a range of experiences and relationships that exist for all members of the community. To attain these goals at different stages, a range of supports may be required, such as technology and equipment services, therapy support and assistance to link with communities.
