Riding for the Disabled Association of WA Inc
Riding for the Disabled Association is a registered charity providing horse riding activities as a pleasurable form of physical exercise which can therapeutically assist to people with disabilities, including intellectual, specific learning, inuries resulting from accidents, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, down syndrome, visual and hearing impairments, autism and amputees.
There are 14 centres within Western Australia, which caters for people of all ages. Our aim is to provide the opportunity to experience enjoyment, challenge and a sense of achievement through participation in horse riding activities, resulting in the development of life skills; improving quality of life; and the attainment of personal goals.
Horse riding promotes fun, freedom, and fitness as well as aiding co-ordination and balance, stimulates the mind and circulation, and improves muscle tone and relaxation. it also assist greatly in the develpment of self confidence, self esteem, communication skills, leadership and trust, and psychologically enables the rider to feel independent.
