Heart Research Australia, (formerly the North Shore Heart Research Foundation)
financially supports cardiovascular research conducted by scientists, doctors and cardiologists at Royal North Shore Hospital.
Current research projects include the RARE SALAMI Study which challenges the current standard treatment for heart attack; the MACARF Study - supporting people living with cardiac failure at home, and Ante Natal Assessment of Fetal Cardiac Function - studying low birthweight babies who are at risk of heart attack & stroke in adulthood.
The Foundation receives no government funding.
