Down Syndrome Association of NSW Inc
The aim of the Down Syndrome Association to to encourage people with Down syndrome to fulfil their poential for successful and happy lives, in a society that knows their abilities and is supportive of their needs.
The work of the Association is to represent the interests and respond to the needs of people with Down syndrome in the major aspects of their lives; as members of the family, in their individual pursuits, and as members of the community.
When a child with Down syndrome is born, one of the first needs of the parents is up to date information about Down syndrome. The Association has an information folder made available to all maternity hospitals, to be given to new parents to meet this need.
