Muscular Dystrophy Queensland
Muscular dystrophy (MD) refers to a group of muscle wasting diseases. The most common forms are devastating; progressively taking away the strength to walk, lift arms and hands, even breathing with support becomes difficult. There is no cure.
MD can be inherited or caused by a random gene mutation, meaning that any family can be effected by muscular dystrophy at any stage of life. There are just over 3,000 people living in Queensland who have a neuromuscular disease. Each year another 40 people receive this heart breaking diagnosis.
Muscular Dystrophy Queensland is seeking your urgent assistance. You can help families receive important information, vital equipment and ongoing practical support, through your generous, tax-deductible donation.
