Reflections Respite Services -Alzheimers Association Sunshine Coast Inc
Reflections Respite Services is a HACC funded dementia specific respite service on the Sunshine Coast.
People (of all ages)who are experiencing dementia and their carers are offered personalised support and programs designed to provide practical day to day help, social activities and support networks.
Reflections recognises and promotes the individual's right to experience quality of life through the maintenance of personal self esteem and dignity.
The family-like atmosphere is not only very supportive, friendly, and non-threatening, but actively assists in the maintenance of existing skills, interests and abilities.
The provision of In Home Respite and On Site sessions in our group setting called 'Club D' enables the Carer to take "time out" on a regular basis to attend to other important matters, including personal recreational activities while the person is enjoying the company of others with like situations and of similar ages and interests.
Other support services offered include face to face and telephone counselling; monthly support group meetings; social outings and educational sessions to enhance the carer's skills and knowledge, to assist them in the management of the many challenging behaviours associated with this debilitating disorder.
