Jesuit Social Services
Jesuit Social Services (JSS) provides services to vulnerable fmilies, children and young people at risk.
JSS seeks to form communities of solidarity with those in need. It is involved in several social services programs, directed towards paricular areas of social need in our community.
Our areas of concentration include the areas of criminal justice, mental health and drug rehabilitation. We are also involved with community development work in inner city high rise public housing estates.
A distinct feature of our work is our commitment to social policy, public advocacy and research on behalf of the disadvantaged in our community
JSS conducts the BROSNAN CENTRE in Brunswick for young people released from prison, CONNEXIONS in Collingwood for young people with mental illness compounded by addiction, COMMUNITIES TOGETHER, a community development project in the high rise flats, PARENTING AUSTRALIA, building resilient families and young children, and the VIETNAMESE WELFARE RESOURCE CENTRE in Flemington, supporting members of the Vietnamese community.
