Community Midwifery WA exists to serve the interests of childbearing women and their families, by:-
* providing equitable access to community-based, woman-centred midwifery services, predominantly homebirth; and
* educating and informing women and the broader community about normal childbirth and our wellness model of one-on-one community midwifery care;
in a manner which upholds our organisational values of egalitarianism, community networking, choice and empowerment.
We currently offer a community-managed birthing services program for women seeking homebirth in the Perth metropolitan area, four Pregnancy & Childbirth Information & Resource centres, and a publicly accessible, midwife-run program of prenatal education.
