WHO WE ARE
The Brien Holden Vision Institute is a unique self-funding global research, education, licensing and public health organization dedicated to providing affordable, quality vision for everyone, everywhere.
WHAT WE DO
We focus on innovation in refractive error correction, the most common problem and its seemingly simple solution. With the support of our industry partners, we research and develop breakthrough technologies and products that improve vision.
OUR UNIQUE INFRASTRUCTURE
We are a social enterprise. The revenues from our breakthrough technologies and products that improve vision are reinvested in sustainable eye care programs around the world.
This operational infrastructure, has enabled us to provide optometric services and glasses to over 2.5 million people at our 429 vision centers and eye care sites and train almost 50,000 eye care personnel around the world.
WHERE WE WORK
In the last 14 years, we have delivered sustainable eye care services, education and training programs developed through appropriate research in 54 countries. The regions in which we currently work are: Africa, Americas, Eastern Mediterranean, Europe, South East Asia and the Western Pacific.
