Zoos Victoria
Zoos Victoria encompasses three properties; Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sancturary and The Royal Melbourne Zoo which began in 1862 as Royal Melbourne Zoological Parks and Gardens - making it Australias oldest zoo.
The common aim of the three properties is to contribute to the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats through education, research and public exhibition. Throughout the world habitats are being lost and introduced species are decimating native wildlife. We seek to build enduring relationships between people and wildlife for a future in which humans live in balance with the natural world.
Supporters of Zoos Victoria may adopt individual animals through our living gifts program, sponsor conservation programmes or contribute to major projects such as the new Orang-utan exhibit.
