Allowah Presbyterian Children's Hospital
Allowah cares for children and young people up to the age of 18 with physical and intellectual disabilities such as genetic or chromosomal disorders, birth trauma, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and diseases acquired after birth. Currently Allowah is supporting over 80 families mainly from New South Wales. Allowah is vital in supporting the children as well as their families, and is credited with keeping families together that otherwise would fracture because of the incredible strain placed on them.
After major renovations in 2009 we are currently needing to upgrade the kitch and laundry facilities. The first stage of this is the kitchen costing $300,000.
We are seeking to raise funds to provide better facilities, so that we can meet the needs of children and young people with disabilities, and also to continue to meet the regulations of the Department of Health and the standards of the Disability Act.
Our goal is to make a real difference to the lives of these children and young people with disabilities who, in all probability, may never enjoy many of the stages and opportunities in life that we often take for granted.
