Heart, stroke and blood vessel disease is the major cause of death in Australia for men and women � in fact, it kills around four times more woman than breast cancer. Much has been learnt about heart disease, but there is so much more to discover as around 40% of deaths from heart disease are unexplained.
The Heart Foundation is Australia�s leading national heart health charity, aiming to give Australians the best heart health in the world. Since 1959, we�ve raised more than $177 million for research into heart disease. We also fund community education and prevention programs such as our Tick Food Information Program that helps consumers make healthier food choices, and Jump Rope for Heart, our physical activity program for school students.
