IFAW - International Fund for Animal Welfare
IFAWs mission is to improve the welfare of wild and domestic animals throughout the world by reducing commercial exploitation of animals, protecting wildlife habitats and helping animals in crisis and distress. IFAW seeks to motivate the public to prevent cruelty to animals and to promote animal welfare and conservation policies that advance the well-being of both animals and people.
IFAW Asia Pacific covers a large geographic region and includes Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Island nations, the Philippines and Indonesia, with an office in Sydney. IFAW has been actively working for animal welfare and wildlife conservation in the Asia Pacific region since 1990.
The four main priorities for this region are to: Stop illegal wildlife trade; help animals in crisis and distress; protect marine mammals; and help communities care for companion animals.
