Care Outreach is a non-denominational Christian organisation with a vision to see transformed lives and communities. Our mission is to care for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of people in rural and remote Australia.
We achieve this through regular face-to-face visitation, food hampers, toiletries & linen. We also have volunteer teams that assist with property support, domestic help. Our volunteers also facilitate community events.
Why we do it? Rural Australia has a higher proportion of disadvantaged people - family incomes are lower, yet costs of living are higher. There is limited access to the full range of government and other services essential for community well-being. The is on record the worst drought in 100 years.
Isolation and limited social activities can enhance loneliness. For many rural and remote Australians, hope is scarce, depressions is a part of everyday live and suicide is not uncommon.
