My name is John Van Leeuwen.
I have recently started a charity organisation dedicated to providing more support and care for the elderly in aged care facilities.
There is a real lack of companionship in this area. For example 1 nurse, or even 1 carer can be responsible for up to 50 residents. I really don't need to do the math on this one for you.
Our aim is to provide support in funding of more carers, volunteers, young people and anyone who just wants to donate a few hours of their time to sit, talk and comfort an elderly person.
This gives you a great sense or a satisfaction, helps develop a kind caring nature. Can releave stress and improve anger management.
