Did you know that in Australia, one woman is killed every week by a current or former partner? <br> <br>Did you know almost 1 in 3 women are exposed to Domestic Violence in their lifetime? <br> <br>That was certainly a huge shock to us - it could be your friend, your aunty, your cousin, your work colleague, anyone. It's a very sensitive subject and many women don't know where to turn to when an attack occurs. <br> <br>What we do: <br> <br>Zonta House Women’s Association was opened in 1984 with the mission to provide support services to Western Australian women who have experienced family and domestic violence, homelessness and any other crisis - and enabling them the opportunity to make safe and sustainable life choices. <br>Our refuge has supported over 8000 women in 30 years of operation and we have many, many more to help. <br> <br>How you can help: <br> <br>Due to funding we can only offer limited support, after all it takes more than a bed to get someone back on their feet. We are only 50% funded by the government and hence rely heavily on the support of amazing Australian Philanthropists – just like you. <br> <br>Your donations in the long run can help to sustain our crisis accommodation, increase and improve our Positive Pathways education program, give a much needed boost to our start over support program (giving furniture and white goods to women in transitional housing) and to ensure that women have clothes, food and a safe roof over their heads (and their childrens’). <br> <br>How can your donation help us immediately? <br> <br>$20 - goes to purchasing an untraceable mobile phone (this crucial for our client’s safety) <br>$50 - goes to clothes, personal items, blankets, (many women come to our refuge with just the clothes on their back) <br>$100 + goes to rental assistance, Start over Support program and Education programs (this is the guts of our mission- we need big donations to help us provide long term support for our clients) <br> <br>We hope you can support our worthy cause! <br>
